The initial post garnered thousands of likes before being removed, after which a follow-up shared a group photo of Amit Joshi at a cricket match.
A subsequent message labeled the whole episode as "#fakenews" and featured a crying-dog meme, suggesting the incident might be a prank. McDonald's India has not issued a statement, and the person behind the posts has not been identified. Screenshots of the messages spread widely across social media, prompting debate over the authenticity of the complaint and concerns about account security.
