McDonald’s rolls out limited-edition Hello Kitty-Godzilla Happy Meal toys
McDonald’s has introduced a new Happy Meal featuring eight collectible toys that blend Sanrio’s Hello Kitty characters with classic Godzilla monsters.
McDonald’s has launched a new Happy Meal collaboration that merges Sanrio’s Hello Kitty lineup with iconic monsters from the Godzilla franchise. Customers can choose the usual burger or chicken nuggets and receive one of eight distinct toys, each combining a Hello Kitty character with a corresponding kaiju, such as Kuromi paired with Mechagodzilla or Keroppi with King Ghidorah. Senior marketing director Guillaume Huin described the set as one of the brand’s most beloved collections.
The promotion is limited in duration and only offered at selected outlets, with pricing subject to regional differences. Social media users have already expressed enthusiasm, with some seeking ways to obtain the toys internationally. This follows McDonald’s recent BT21 Universe Happy Meal, which partnered with a K-pop-linked character brand.
Why it matters
The partnership shows how global brands use pop-culture crossovers to drive sales and engage both kids and collectors.
