Mediapart claims to verify 2013 anti-Jewish messages linked to RN leader
Mediapart says it authenticated 2013 Messenger messages containing antisemitic remarks that it attributes to Jordan Bardella, who denies authoring them.
Mediapart announced it had secured authentic copies of a 2013 Messenger chat that it attributes to Jordan Bardella, the president of the Rassemblement national, featuring antisemitic content. The outlet says the conversation was downloaded from Meta after a request by the chat’s other participant, and a bailiff confirmed the extraction’s integrity and the account’s registration under Bardella’s name. Biographical clues in the messages, such as a reference to Bardella’s Italian-born mother and a 2013 interview with one outlet, are presented as proof of authenticity.
Bardella has categorically denied writing the messages, labeling the claim as a politically motivated attack. The controversy follows an earlier Mediapart report that also linked Bardella to similar 2013 antisemitic posts, raising questions about the RN’s image ahead of the presidential race.
