MeitY approves Odisha AI Centre; Blue Cloud pledges ₹4 crore to launch Bhubaneswar hub

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has granted in-principle approval for a new Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence in Bhubaneswar, to be built under the IndiaAI Mission. The Software Technology Parks of India will manage the project and has named Hyderabad-based Blue Cloud Softech Solutions as its industry partner. Blue Cloud will invest ₹4 crore and supply platforms, engineering talent and mentorship to startups housed at the centre.

The facility, allocated about 10,000 sq ft, will focus on applied AI for healthcare, governance, disaster response, education and industrial uses, leveraging Odisha’s coastal resources such as fisheries and ocean energy. Blue Cloud executives highlighted that the hub will help move prototypes to large-scale deployment in government and enterprise settings. The initiative positions Bhubaneswar as a potential model for collaborative, responsible AI development in India.
