Melaka government allocates RM7.53 million in welfare aid to 5,775 residents

During a ceremony marking Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities and Children’s Day, the Melaka government disclosed that a total of RM7.53 million in welfare support has been allocated to 5,775 residents. Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh detailed that RM4.45 million reached 2,439 recipients through the MeSRa Am Kebajikan scheme, while RM3.08 million funded the MeSRa disposable-diaper and milk programmes for bedridden patients, benefiting 3,345 people across the state’s three districts.

The chief minister emphasized that expanding the welfare network demonstrates the administration’s dedication to ensuring that development does not leave vulnerable groups behind. He also visited a child with disabilities, providing a family assistance package and a PwD card, and inaugurated the new Seri Kemunting Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre office. State officials present included the State Secretary and committee chairs for Women, Family and Community Development and for Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture.
