Mercedes-Benz Korea unveils all-electric CLA sedan and GLC SUV

Mercedes-Benz Korea introduced fully electric versions of its CLA sedan and GLC SUV in Seoul, marking a new step in its EV strategy.

At a launch event in Seoul, Mercedes-Benz Korea rolled out electric versions of its CLA sedan and GLC sport-utility vehicle, each based on newly developed in-house EV platforms. The CLA is available as the 250+ model with an 85 kWh NCM battery and the 200 model with a 58 kWh LFP battery, providing certified ranges of 474 km and 342 km respectively. The GLC features an 85 kWh NCM pack and can travel up to 448 km on a single charge.

All three models use batteries from Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) and support fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes for the larger packs and 20 minutes for the smaller one. Pricing ranges from 52.9 million won to 67.7 million won for the CLA trims and 90 million won to 94.8 million won for the GLC launch editions. Pre-order numbers exceed 1,000 for the CLA and 2,500 for the GLC, with deliveries expected to begin in mid-November.

Why it matters

The launch expands Mercedes-Benz's electric lineup in South Korea, signaling stronger competition in the local EV market.
