Mercedes reports sharp sales drop in China and mixed results worldwide in Q3

Mercedes said its third-quarter car sales fell sharply in China while showing modest growth in other markets.

Mercedes announced that its third-quarter vehicle deliveries dropped markedly in China, attributing the slump to a challenging market environment and intense rivalry. In contrast, the company recorded a small increase in sales outside the Chinese market. The luxury segment, which the brand relies on, experienced a noticeable downturn, affecting models such as the S-Class, AMG variants and the G-Class.

Meanwhile, the entry-level segment grew, largely thanks to the popularity of the electric CLA model. Worldwide, Mercedes achieved a record level of fully electric car deliveries, with Europe showing the strongest growth. Sales chief Mathias Geisen highlighted that the company's model strategy remains fully active.
