Mercedes says Russell will serve engine penalty later, timing still undecided

Mercedes announced that George Russell will receive a grid penalty for surpassing his allotted engine quota, although the exact race for serving the sanction remains to be determined. Deputy team principal Bradley Lord explained that both Russell and teammate Kimi Antonelli will face penalties, emphasizing the need to balance component mileage against points loss. Engineering director Andrew Shovlin noted that the team continuously evaluates component health and may adjust plans after each event.
