Meryl Streep, Colman Domingo and Bill Hader added to Lincoln in the Bardo cast
Meryl Streep, Colman Domingo, Bill Hader and Tom Waits have joined the star-studded lineup for the hybrid film Lincoln in the Bardo.
Starburns Industries announced that Meryl Streep, Colman Domingo, Bill Hader and Tom Waits are joining the cast of Lincoln in the Bardo, a hybrid live-action and stop-motion feature. Tom Hank is set to play President Abraham Lincoln in the live-action scenes, while Willem Dafoe, Jonathan Bailey and Peter Dinklage lend their voices to the animated sequences. Streep will perform four separate voice parts, including two supernatural beings, Domingo will voice a ghost of a former slave, Hader will portray two characters, and Waits will voice a ghostly dancehall performer.
The film, directed by Duke Johnson, adapts George Saunders’s bestselling novel about Lincoln’s grief over his son Willie. Production is backed by Starburns Industries, Playtone and producers Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Paul Young and Devon Young Rabinowitz, with sales handled by CAA Media Finance and WME Independent at TIFF: The Market.
