Meta blocks ByteDance ads on its platforms across multiple countries

Meta has stopped all advertising from ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, on its apps in the United States and several other markets.

The social-media giant announced a full ban on paid marketing messages from ByteDance on its services. The restriction applies to the United States and also to Canada, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. Meta said the move prevents any ByteDance ads from appearing on its platforms in those regions. The company did not comment further when approached for a statement.

Why it matters

The ban limits TikTok's ability to reach audiences through Meta's vast ad network, affecting digital marketing dynamics.
