Meta hires MongoDB chief Chirantan Desi to head new enterprise AI platform

The social-media giant said Desai will head its upcoming Meta Enterprise Platform, which will bundle AI models, agents and coding utilities for business customers. MongoDB’s shares dropped about 20% in pre-market trading after the move was disclosed. Desai, who took over MongoDB’s chief executive role in November, will step down, and the board has named former leader Dev Ittycheria as interim president and CEO while it searches for a permanent replacement.
