Meta launches camera-free Ray-Ban Audio glasses with longer battery life
Meta introduced the Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses, which omit a camera, focus on open-ear audio and promise up to 12 hours of mixed-use battery life.
Meta's Ray-Ban Audio glasses arrive without any camera hardware, addressing privacy concerns while delivering solid sound performance. Available in Burbank and Clubmaster designs, the Clubmaster version weighs 47 grams and distributes weight away from the nose for a snug fit. The devices include six microphones, open-ear speakers, a touch-sensitive arm, and a small inward-facing LED for notifications, plus an action button limited to music or AI activation.
Battery life reaches up to 12 hours of mixed use, with the reviewer still at about 50 percent after five hours of audio streaming and a call. Audio quality matches that of Meta’s second-generation glasses, and callers reported clearer voice transmission. Meta’s VP of Wearables, Ming Hua, noted that the speaker and mic system had to be rebuilt for the slimmer frame, and the company intends to roll out its Muse AI agent to the glasses in the next few months.
