Meta's Muse AI assistant climbs App Store ranks amid Amazon block and user savings challenge

Meta launched its Muse personal AI assistant in early September and began promoting a #MuseMoneyChallenge that asks users to demonstrate money‑saving actions such as negotiating with insurers or canceling unused services. Within days the app reached the top of the free App Store rankings, surpassing competitors and drawing support from Shopify’s Shop Pay and Stripe’s payment layer. Amazon has blocked Muse from conducting transactions on its marketplace, citing lack of pre‑approval, undisclosed presence and concerns over credential handling.

The rollout has been accompanied by a nationwide TV campaign highlighting Muse’s ability to automate tasks like inbox sorting and calendar management, while privacy experts warn that the assistant requires extensive access to personal data.
