Meta’s Muse AI assistant sees rapid user uptake and rolls out new hardware

Since its launch on September 8, Meta’s Muse AI app has recorded millions of downloads, with Sensor Tower reporting more than 3.4 million installs following the Connect conference. The rollout introduced avatar‑based video calls, a dedicated email address, Mac support and plans for smart‑glass integration. At the same event Meta unveiled the Muse Charm, a key‑fob‑sized AI device with a display, cameras, microphone and 5G connectivity, slated for a holiday release.

The assistant has also displaced OpenAI’s ChatGPT on free‑app charts, highlighting Meta’s ability to leverage its advertising and user base. Concerns have been raised about the cute Jolly mascot encouraging users to share personal data for ad targeting.
