MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm and heavy rain alert for Labuan and six states tonight

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds that will affect Labuan and six Malaysian states until 9 pm this evening. In Kelantan, the alert includes Pasir Puteh, Bachok, Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Pasir Mas and Machang. Pahang districts such as Jerantut, Kuantan, Maran, Pekan and Lipis are also covered, as are parts of Terengganu, Johor and extensive areas of Sarawak, including Song, Kanowit, Sibu and Kuching.

Sabah’s Interior, West Coast and Kudat divisions, plus several districts in the Sandakan and Tawau divisions, are likewise under the advisory. Authorities urge the public to monitor conditions and take precautions against the expected severe weather.
