Miami alum posts faster stroller mile at Cleveland's Guardian Mile race

Former Miami University athlete Stephen Biebelhausen, a former cross-country and 1,500-meter competitor, achieved a stroller-mile time of 4:17 during Cleveland's Guardian Mile event. The run took place on the city's Hope Memorial Bridge, which features a steep grade and the famed Guardians of Traffic sculptures. Biebelhausen's time is reported to be nine seconds faster than the existing Guinness-recognized men's record of 4:26.29 held by Silas Frantz since June 2025.

Verification by Guinness World Records is still pending before the achievement can be officially recorded. One outlet Mile race is organized around the bridge’s incline and offers views of the skyline, drawing participants who seek unique distance challenges. While the overall fastest mile was set by Josh Kerr at 3:42.66 in London, Biebelhausen's feat specifically concerns the stroller-mile category.
