Miami running back Jordan Lyle arrested on felony fleeing and reckless driving charges
University of Miami junior running back Jordan Lyle was taken into custody on felony fleeing and a misdemeanor reckless-driving charge, then released later that day.
Jordan Lyle, a junior running back for the Miami Hurricanes, was arrested Thursday on two felony counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding police, plus a misdemeanor reckless-driving charge, according to Broward County court records. The Sunrise Police Department issued the warrant, and Lyle was booked at the Broward Main Jail before being released later that day with a combined bond of $55,000. A University of Miami spokesperson said the school is aware of the incident and will refrain from comment while the legal process proceeds.
Lyle, 20, hails from Fort Lauderdale and previously played at St. Thomas Aquinas High School; he is vying for the No. 2 spot behind starter Mark Fletcher Jr. alongside Char'Mar Brown, Girard Pringle Jr., and Javian Mallory. Coach Mario Cristobal noted Lyle appears fully healthy and back to his prior form in practice.
