Michael Cohen to host first public interview with Donald Trump on his radio show

Michael Cohen announced he will interview Donald Trump on his WABC radio program, marking their first public conversation in eight years.

Michael Cohen confirmed to one outlet that he will interview Donald Trump on his New York radio program Thursday, the first time the two will speak publicly since 2016. Cohen, who once served as Trump’s close aide and managed deals for the Trump Organization, fell out with the president over a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels and later pleaded guilty to financial crimes and lying to Congress. He spent more than a year in prison and subsequently testified in civil and criminal trials that led to Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts.

Despite earlier hostility, Cohen said he reached out to the White House and Trump agreed to the recorded interview, which will be broadcast in parts on Thursday evening and Sunday. The segment will air on “When You Know, You Know… with Michael Cohen” on WABC 770 am.

Why it matters

The interview could reveal new insights into the strained relationship between Trump and his former chief fixer.
