Michael Jordan's 1998 Finals jersey sells for record price at auction

A white Chicago Bulls jersey worn by Michael Jordan in Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals was auctioned for a new record price.

A white Chicago Bulls jersey from Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals, in which Michael Jordan posted 24 points, fetched a record sum at auction. The item was offered on Joopiter, the online marketplace created by artist Pharrell Williams, and was purchased by a collector on the Tuesday after the September 15 sale. This transaction eclipsed the earlier high price achieved by a different Jordan jersey from the first game of that series.

The 1997/1998 season marked Jordan's final year with the Bulls, famously chronicled in the "The Last Dance" documentary on Netflix. The auction follows other high-profile sports memorabilia sales, such as Kobe Bryant's 2010 Christmas game shoes and a Heritage Auctions-sold signed card featuring Bryant and Jordan.
