Michele Kang vows London City Lionesses' new training hub will outshine most men's facilities

Michele Kang revealed that London City Lionesses will open a dedicated training centre in less than a year, a facility she claims will be better than most Premier League men’s training sites. The investment follows a summer of major player acquisitions, including two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas. Kang emphasized that the centre is purpose-built for women, aiming to eliminate the notion that female athletes are second-class citizens in the sport.

She highlighted the need for better injury research, noting that ACL injuries affect women at a rate two to three times higher than men and that medical research is overwhelmingly male-focused. Drawing on her experience with independent clubs in the United States, Kang said the project demonstrates the potential of women-only teams. She also linked the initiative to her multi-club ownership model, hoping similar standards will spread to clubs in Asia, Africa and South America, ultimately providing equal opportunities for girls worldwide.
