Microsoft expands Copilot sharing to all Family and Premium members
Microsoft will let Microsoft 365 Family and Premium subscribers share Copilot and AI features with up to five other users on the same plan.
Microsoft announced that AI capabilities bundled with Microsoft 365 Personal and Family will now be shareable among all members of a Family or Premium subscription, covering up to five additional users. The change also introduces a unified AI usage pool that can be increased with extra purchases, giving flexibility to prioritize the most used features. Parents will be able to control AI access for younger members.
OneDrive storage will move from a 1 TB per-person model to a collective 2 TB pool for the entire plan, while each user retains private accounts and files. Existing subscribers in eligible markets may receive temporary bonus storage, and Microsoft plans to support families with high storage demands. These updates follow the earlier launch of Microsoft 365 Premium, which bundles Copilot Pro with a Family subscription for $19.99 per month.
Why it matters
Sharing AI tools across family accounts could broaden access while altering storage limits for many users.
