Microsoft launches AI-driven tool to migrate Salesforce and ERP data to Dynamics 365
Microsoft unveiled an AI-powered preview that converts Salesforce and other ERP setups into its Dynamics 365 platform, promising faster, lower-risk migrations.
Microsoft introduced Dynamics 365 Activate, an AI-enhanced migration assistant that can analyze a Salesforce implementation and produce a detailed migration plan for its Dynamics 365 SaaS suite. By profiling data structures, business processes and custom code, the system identifies relationships, dependencies and customizations that require attention, giving implementation teams a clearer picture of what to transfer or redesign.
The preview is currently available to partners and customers, with Microsoft promising to add more CRM and ERP conversion pathways later in the year. The company hopes the offering will speed up migrations, cut manual effort and lower risk for partners handling client transitions. Microsoft’s broader business applications unit, which generated $140 billion in FY 26 revenue, is seeking to grow its modest CRM share against Salesforce’s larger market position.
Why it matters
The tool could reshape how businesses move from Salesforce to Microsoft, affecting migration costs and market competition.
