Microsoft to showcase AI-powered Surface Laptop Ultra and agentic AI at October 7 event
Microsoft will host a San Francisco event on October 7 to unveil its AI-focused Surface Laptop Ultra and discuss the future of agentic AI on PCs.
Microsoft has scheduled a San Francisco event for October 7, billed as a discussion on how local AI will shape the next PC era. Attendees will include CEO Satya Nadella, Windows and Devices head Pavan Davuluri, and NVIDIA chief Jensen Huang. The showcase will feature the Surface Laptop Ultra, one of the first devices to use NVIDIA’s RTX Spark, a 6,144-core Blackwell GPU with 20 Arm CPU cores and up to 128 GB of unified memory.
The laptop’s 15-inch mini-LED display can reach 2,000 nits, but pricing and availability remain undisclosed. Microsoft also intends to announce advances in agentic AI, aiming to integrate more autonomous AI assistants into Windows after mixed reactions to its Copilot+ rollout. The event will therefore serve both as a product reveal and a platform to revive enthusiasm for AI-driven PCs.
