Migrant of Algerian origin dies after collapsing near shower area in Ceuta's Trampolín camp
An Algerian migrant named Amaar collapsed in the shower zone of the Trampolín settlement in Ceuta and was pronounced dead after unsuccessful resuscitation attempts.
At roughly 14:30, an Algerian migrant identified as Amaar collapsed close to the shower facilities in the Trampolín settlement on Ceuta's beach, near the Guando factory. NGO activists initiated CPR, and an ambulance arrived, with medical personnel attempting to revive him for roughly an hour before confirming his death. Around one hundred migrants stood nearby, watching the effort, while police controlled the crowd.
After the body was covered, the gathered migrants held a brief Muslim prayer ceremony, which police allowed to proceed without interference. A companion reported that Amaar had been feeling unwell earlier that day, though no specific health condition was disclosed.
