Miley Cyrus launches first headline shows in years at Hollywood Bowl

Miley Cyrus opened her two-night “Bass Persuades - Live at the Hollywood Bowl” residency on Friday, marking her first major headlining concerts since 2014.

Miley Cyrus kicked off a two-date residency titled “Miley: Bass Persuades - Live at the Hollywood Bowl” on Friday, delivering her first full-scale headlining gig in years. The shows were announced in early September alongside the upcoming release of her album Bass Persuades, scheduled for September 18 on Atlantic Records. Cyrus, who now performs under the mononym Miley, expressed excitement about playing the iconic Los Angeles venue, calling it a personal favorite and a test run for possible future residencies.

This appearance follows a handful of recent, low-key performances, such as a TikTok-only fan event at the Chateau Marmont and a private concert for Spotify’s Billions Club Live in Paris. Earlier in the year she also took part in the Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special. In a recent Apple Music interview, she said the Bowl shows prove she can attract audiences without touring extensively.

Why it matters

The concerts signal Miley Cyrus's return to large-scale live performances and promote her new album.
