Minister urges larger budget allocation for PJRM to broaden cost-of-living relief

During a ceremony at the Papar District Mosque, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Armizan Mohd Ali appealed for increased allocation to the Program Jualan RAHMAH MADANI (PJRM) in the 2027 Budget. He argued that the scheme’s expanding reach and the cost savings it delivers to consumers justify greater funding. Armizan noted that, following its formal budgeting from 2024, the programme has consistently set and met annual targets, with transaction numbers climbing each year.

The initiative, originally a pilot under the Payung RAHMAH agenda in 2023, now operates as a permanent discount-sales programme offering goods 10-30% cheaper than market rates. He also mentioned new QR-code stickers at public venues to help shoppers locate upcoming sales. The minister’s request aims to sustain and enlarge these benefits for more households.
