MinLaw confirms police probes into Law Society audit findings, council pledges full cooperation

The Ministry of Law confirmed on Tuesday that police are probing allegations raised in the latest audit of the Law Society of Singapore, a body that regulates the legal profession. While the ministry offered no additional details, it said the society’s council will cooperate fully with the investigation. Police also acknowledged filing a report related to the audit’s findings and are currently reviewing the matters.

The Law Society has been told not to release or comment on the audit report until the police investigations are finished, though it had previously promised members a full release after redaction. The audit, launched after an anonymous email to MinLaw and the Ministry of Manpower, uncovered significant leadership, workplace culture and governance failures, though it found no evidence of intentional financial impropriety.
