Minority parliamentary bloc urges President Dan to delay prime-minister nomination amid deadlock

On Thursday the parliamentary group representing national minorities requested President Nicuşor Dan to defer his prime-minister nomination, citing the lack of a clear parliamentary majority after months of stagnation. Varujan Pambuccian, the group’s leader, said the impasse threatens everyday life and that rushing to early elections would worsen the crisis. He emphasized that a functional government requires a genuine majority and that any arrangement with the AUR party must be both effective and safeguard democracy.

Pambuccian warned that unilateral presidential action could be deemed unconstitutional and urged parties to achieve consensus through parliamentary votes. He concluded that broad political consultation, not top-down decisions, is essential to resolve one outlet deadlock.
