Missile and drone barrage strikes Kyiv in early hours

In the pre‑dawn hours, Kyiv was hit by a missile and drone offensive that produced at least ten to twelve explosions, with flames and smoke reported in districts such as Obolon and Podilsky. Mayor Vitalij Klitsjko said several buildings and storage facilities were struck, while Ukrainian officials had earlier warned of approaching Tu‑95 bombers. President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned the previous evening of a possible massive attack on the capital.

Damage assessments and casualty figures have not yet been released. The strike follows recent Ukrainian deployment of AI‑guided shooting towers on bridges to counter drone threats.
