Miyu Yamashita ties LPGA scoring record with nine-stroke victory at CPKC Women's Open

Miyu Yamashita, standing just 4-foot-11, dominated the CPKC Women’s Open at Royal Mayfair Golf Club, carding an opening 62 and subsequent rounds of 64, 65 and 66 to end at 23-under 257. This score matches the LPGA record established by Sei Young Kim at the 2018 Thornberry Creek event. Yamashita’s margin of victory was nine strokes over compatriot Yuri Yoshida, who had missed her previous six cuts.

The tournament also highlighted strong Canadian performances, with 17-year-old Anna Huang sharing fourth place and 16-year-old amateur Aphrodite Deng tying for seventh. Former Duke player Gina Kim, playing in the final group, posted a closing 71 for a shared fourth-place finish. Alison Lee’s solid play earned her a share of 13th and clinched the final Solheim Cup berth via the Rolex Rankings, while rookie Kiara Romero finished tied for 23rd after a late-round stumble.
