MLB designates San Francisco's Oracle Park for the 2028 All-Star Game

Major League Baseball confirmed that Oracle Park in San Francisco will host the 2028 All-Star Game, marking the city’s return to the midsummer showcase after the 2007 edition. Commissioner Rob Manfred highlighted the venue’s passionate fan base, modern facilities, and the city’s deep baseball heritage as reasons for the choice. The 2007 game is noted for Ichiro Suzuki’s iconic inside-the-park home run off the right-center wall.

Giants President and CEO Larry Baer expressed pride in the opportunity to present the organization, the city, and its diverse culture to a global audience. This event adds to a recent string of major sports gatherings in the Bay Area, which also featured the Super Bowl, the World Cup, and the NBA All-Star Game in February 2025. Oracle Park will become the eighth active ballpark to host the All-Star Game multiple times, joining historic sites such as Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. Officials anticipate that the week-long festivities will boost tourism and showcase San Francisco’s unique blend of sport, innovation, and natural scenery.
