Moderna co-founder Bob Langer and AI pioneer Yann LeCun join Cellular Intelligence advisory board

Cellular Intelligence, a company developing AI systems to forecast how living cells respond to signals, revealed four new members of its scientific advisory board: Robert “Bob” Langer, co-founder of Moderna; Yann LeCun, Turing Award-winning AI researcher; Jens Nielsen, chief executive of the BioInnovation Institute; and Fabian Theis, director of the Computational Health Center at Helmholtz Munich. Langer will also sit on the company’s board of directors as an observer.

The additions are intended to blend expertise from biotechnology and artificial intelligence as the firm pursues faster, cheaper drug discovery. LeCun, who recently left Meta to launch AMI Labs, will contribute his deep-learning background, while Langer brings decades of experience in medical research and entrepreneurship. The company also noted strategic input from OpenAI’s Fidji Simo and highlighted its acquisition of global rights to the Phase-2-ready Parkinson’s therapy STEM-PD, backed by Novo Nordisk.
