Modi and Prince Rahim Aga Khan V discuss expanding health and agriculture ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Prince Rahim Aga Khan V to explore deeper cooperation between India and the Aga Khan Development Network in health, agriculture and rural development.

During Prince Rahim Aga Khan V’s first India tour since becoming the 50th Imam of the Ismaili community, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review the work of the Aga Khan Development Network in the country. The discussions covered expanding joint efforts in healthcare, agriculture, rural development, as well as initiatives aimed at youth and women’s empowerment. Modi praised the legacy of the late Aga Khan IV and affirmed India’s desire to deepen ties with the AKDN.

The prince’s itinerary includes stops in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Hyderabad, where the network runs several community projects. The visit was arranged at the request of Vice President C P Radhakrishnan. Both sides signaled a commitment to increase cooperation across multiple sectors.
