Modi hails BJP's municipal sweep in Rajasthan, citing truth over falsehoods

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to Rajasthan voters, calling the BJP's municipal victory a validation of its development agenda and a defeat of misinformation. According to the Rajasthan State Election Commission, the BJP won 4,179 of the 10,235 wards announced, surpassing the Congress's 3,613. The party secured majorities in the municipal corporations of Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota and Bhilwara, whereas the Congress retained control of Bikaner and captured the Jhalawar council, a traditional stronghold of former chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

In Kota, the BJP took 55 of 100 wards, though a counting irregularity delayed results for one ward. Independents helped the BJP achieve a majority in Bundi after three joined the party. Party leaders, including BJP president Nitin Nabin and spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, framed the outcome as a mandate for continued governance and a rebuke of Congress rhetoric.
