Mol's Százhalombatta refinery resumes operations after extensive fire repairs

Mol confirmed that the Százhalombatta refinery's AV-3 unit, which suffered severe damage in the October 2025 fire, has been fully repaired and is ready for testing. Over the past year, the damaged reinforced-concrete structure was demolished and all affected machinery was refurbished, alongside upgrades to the control and electrical infrastructure. The project also saw the installation of 27 new high-performance pumps, replacement of 8 kilometres of pipework, and laying of 100 kilometres of new power cables.

Following these installations, the refinery will proceed with system flushing, pressure trials, and verification of process and safety equipment before synchronising with the other units at the Dunai Finomító. Once completed, the plant will resume production at its original capacity.
