The deputies allege that Sandu has breached the Constitution, ignored the separation of powers, and misused presidential authority in matters like pardons, citizenship, and intelligence agency oversight. They also accuse her of endangering the country's sovereignty and failing to uphold human rights.
The motion, signed by 46 MPs, has been recorded by the parliamentary secretariat and will be examined in an upcoming plenary session. If the required two-thirds majority is reached, a referendum on the president's removal could be organized within 30 days. The ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) has defended Sandu, emphasizing her elected mandate.
