Montreal Police Detain One of Two Fugitives Linked to July Niagara Falls Homicide

Josta MacNeal, identified as 30 years old, was taken into custody by the Service de police de la Ville de Montreal on Thursday for her alleged role in the July 16 homicide of 35-year-old Mitchell Snoddon in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The Niagara Regional Police Service confirmed she will be charged with second-degree murder and transferred back to the jurisdiction where the crime occurred. The second suspect, 23-year-old Maaroof Bangi, has not been captured and is considered armed and dangerous, prompting police to advise the public to avoid any confrontation and dial 911 immediately if they see him.

The shooting, which took place near an apartment on Thorold Stone Road, was deemed targeted rather than random. Police have released surveillance footage and vehicle descriptions in hopes of locating Bangi, and they encourage tips through Crime Stoppers.
