Moscow mayor unveils plan to convert rehab centre into veteran palace by 2027
Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that the existing War Veterans’ Social Rehabilitation Center in Yekaterininsky Park will be transformed into a “Palace for Veterans of the Special Military Operation” by the end of 2027.
Sergey Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, revealed plans to turn the War Veterans’ Social Rehabilitation Center, located in Yekaterininsky Park, into a “Palace for Veterans of the Special Military Operation.” The new facility aims to merge active social reintegration with advanced rehabilitation methods, offering flexible, daytime and short-term programs so veterans need not leave their jobs or families. The palace will be built within the Meshchansky district and will be part of broader improvements to make the park fully accessible for veterans.
Renovation of the existing centre is already in progress, with a target completion date set for the end of 2027. Sobyanin presented the initiative as a way to provide a fully equipped complex that supports recovery and societal participation for combat veterans, including those who served in the special military operation.
