Moskowitz’s job at firm accused of hurricane price-gouging resurfaces

Jared Moskowitz’s (D-FL) prior job as general counsel for a disaster cleanup company is coming under scrutiny just one week before Florida’s congressional primaries. Moskowitz, who is seeking reelection in a GOP-leaning seat, served in the Florida state Legislature from 2012 to 2019, when he joined Gov. Ron DeSantis’s administration as the director of the emergency management division. But during his time as a state elected official, Moskowitz also worked for almost a decade at AshBritt, a “rapid-response disaster recovery and special environmental services contractor. ” Recommended Stories The company has faced a string of controversies over the years, including being accused of price gouging.
