Most of Senator Bato dela Rosa's registered guns remain unaccounted for
The Philippine National Police reports that 91 of the 117 firearms linked to Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa have not been recovered, with only 26 turned in.
At a recent press conference, the Philippine National Police confirmed that out of 117 firearms registered to Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, only 26 have been returned, leaving 91 still missing. Major General Aden Lagradante of the PNP Civil Security Group said the force continues to work with the senator’s legal officer to locate the remaining weapons. Dela Rosa’s firearms license has been administratively revoked, and under police regulations he is required to surrender all his guns.
The revocation, issued by the Firearms and Explosives Office, was prompted by a pending criminal case that carries a penalty of more than two years. The case is tied to an International Criminal Court arrest warrant accusing him of involvement in alleged extrajudicial killings during the war on drugs under former President Rodrigo Duterte. Officials indicated that the accounting process for the outstanding firearms is ongoing.
