Mota-Engil climbs to 55th spot in Deloitte's global construction ranking
Portuguese builder Mota-Engil placed 55th among the world’s 100 biggest construction firms in Deloitte’s latest Global Powers of Construction study.
Mota-Engil, led by Carlos Mota Santos, secured the 55th place in Deloitte’s Global Powers of Construction, the only Portuguese firm among a list largely occupied by Asian giants. The position reflects the company’s 2025 sales and a market capitalisation of about $1.781 billion (≈€1.4 billion). Last year the group posted a historic €5.3 billion in revenue and €133 million in profit.
For the first half of 2026, profit climbed 24% to €74 million, revenue grew 6% to €2.898 billion, and EBITDA rose 10% to €487 million. The firm highlighted a record-high order book of €17.7 billion and projected 10-15% revenue growth this year as it converts orders into large-scale projects. Deloitte noted that while total revenues of the top 100 fell slightly in 2025, sector market capitalisation rose 12%, indicating improving investor sentiment.
