Mother allegedly kills two children with scissors before taking her own life in Rajasthan

Police say Usha Sharma locked herself with her five-year-old son and four-year-old daughter in a room in Dantiya village, attacked them with scissors and later died by suicide.

Authorities in Alwar district report that Usha Sharma locked a room in her Dantiya village home and used scissors to attack her five-year-old son Mukul and four-year-old daughter Nandini following a dispute over the girl playing outside. After the assault, she allegedly wounded herself and later died by suicide. Neighbours heard the children’s cries, broke down the door and discovered the wounded family; they were taken to the Kherli sub-district hospital where the children and Usha were pronounced dead.

Manisha, Usha’s younger sister, injured herself by striking her head against a wall and was transferred to a district hospital for further care. Police noted that Usha’s husband Amit Sharma works for a private company in Gujarat, while Manisha’s husband Ankit Sharma is a nurse at a private hospital in Jaipur. The bodies are now in the Kherli hospital mortuary as investigations continue.
