A 12-year-old autistic boy vanished during severe storms near Barcelona, and his mother says she is convinced he has been taken against his will.
On October 4, 12-year-old Rami, who has autism, ran out of his house in Granollers as violent storms battered the area. He has not been seen since, and his mother, Faouzia Benouizi, says she is certain he is being kept somewhere by another person. The family suspects a vehicle may have stopped and taken him, noting his susceptibility to strangers.
A large-scale rescue effort involving about 50 firefighters, specialized mountain, underwater and canine units, drones and police has focused on the Besos river system and surrounding streams. Search teams have also examined a hotel where Rami was reportedly last seen and extended patrols along the coast toward Badalona and Barcelona.
