Mother Charged After Allegedly Threatening Children with Knife and Violence
Sara Daniels, 36, was arrested on three child-abuse counts after her three children said she chased them with a knife and threatened to cut their throats.
West Virginia authorities have charged Sara Daniels, 36, with three counts of child abuse resulting in injury and strangulation after her three children, ages 14, 11 and 9, recounted terrifying incidents involving a knife and threats of lethal violence. According to court filings, Daniels chased her 14-year-old daughter with a knife and the youngest child heard her shout that she would cut their siblings’ throats if they left.
The siblings also described a drug-fueled episode in which Daniels and her boyfriend crashed their vehicles into each other, nearly striking the 9-year-old. Further statements include Daniels telling her teenage daughter she wished she had died and offering to help her commit suicide, as well as an 11-year-old’s scar from being slammed against a door. The children provided these accounts during May interviews at the Child Advocacy Center in Elkins. Daniels is detained at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $30,000 cash-only bond, and the West Virginia State Police have not responded to additional inquiries.
