Mother, daughter and boyfriend accused of stealing heirlooms from cemeteries in nine states
Law enforcement is pursuing a mother-daughter-boyfriend team alleged to have pilfered items from cemetery niches across at least nine states.
Police are searching for a three-person group accused of looting cemetery niches and mausoleums in at least nine states. The suspects—32-year-old Porsche Bancroft, her 33-year-old boyfriend Drake Lee Milam and Bancroft’s 52-year-old mother Angela Garrett, all residents of Indianapolis—are said to have toured the eastern United States, breaking into burial sites to steal heirlooms and other valuables. Orange County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Cole Brazee announced arrest warrants that would allow extradition to Florida, where investigators have opened 20 related cases and suspect many more victims.
The alleged thefts also include cemeteries in Oklahoma, Minnesota, Texas, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina and New York. Brazee urged families to verify that items placed in niches remain intact. The Central Florida Crimeline is offering up to $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest.
