Mother Says Her City Employee Son Confessed to 2018 Bronx Peephole Murder
A Bronx mother told a private investigator that her son, who works for the city’s Administration of Children’s Services, admitted to the 2018 shooting of Wendy Martinez through her apartment peephole.
In a taped interview from 2022, a Bronx mother claimed her son, an employee of the Administration of Children’s Services, confessed to killing Wendy Martinez by firing a single shot through her apartment’s peephole. The son initially denied any role, then laughed and admitted his involvement when pressed. Martinez’s 2018 murder was linked to gang retaliation, with police suspecting a rival Bloods offshoot targeted the building.
Surveillance video captured a masked figure leaving the scene under an umbrella, which investigators hope contains DNA. The mother said she recognized her son’s build and walk in the footage. Although she has not yet spoken to police, detectives are expected to question her shortly. No charges have been filed in the case to date.
