Motorcyclist deliberately plows into Amazon protest crowd, driver arrested
A motorcyclist intentionally drove into a group of Amazon warehouse protesters in Riverside County, injuring two demonstrators and himself before being taken into custody.
Riverside County deputies responded to a report that a motorcyclist had driven into a crowd of Amazon warehouse protesters on Krameria Avenue. The rider, later identified as 40-year-old Jesus Salcido Perez of Perris, intentionally accelerated into the gathering, hitting two demonstrators who were identified as local union members supporting the walkout. Both protesters sustained only minor injuries, while Perez was also injured, taken to a hospital and subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The demonstration, led by Teamsters Local 1932, was part of a broader walkout demanding improved working conditions and higher wages, alleging illegal retaliation by Amazon. Amazon responded that it already provides many of the requested benefits. Authorities emphasized safety and noted that the protest remained lawful and did not block public roads.
