Motorcyclist killed in crash during race at The Bend Motorsport Park

A rider died after a serious crash at a motorcycle race held at The Bend Motorsport Park near Adelaide.

Around 11 AM on Sunday, emergency services were dispatched to a private racing circuit in Elwomple after a motorcycle crash was reported. South Australian police said the incident resulted in the death of the rider, who was attended by paramedics but did not survive. The Bend Motorsport Park, located roughly 100 kilometres south-east of Adelaide, and Motorcycling South Australia labeled the occurrence a "critical incident" and expressed condolences to the rider's family and the broader motorsport community.

Officials thanked first responders and announced that a coroner will investigate the case. Motorcycling Australia confirmed it is working with the relevant authorities following the tragedy.
