MP Peter Magyar files criminal complaint over divers sent into flooded Danube

Peter Magyar used a pre-session address to declare his intention to file complaints for endangering officials and abuse of office after divers were ordered into the flood-ridden Danube without safety gear. He recounted a prior incident where a phone was seized from a man who filmed him and later thrown into the river, later recovered by divers. Magyar asserts that, despite the river being filled with debris and eight-metre currents, police leaders sent divers in total darkness on a higher-level political instruction.
He demands transparency about which minister authorized the operation. The National Assembly voted, by a margin of 139 votes, to lift his immunity, permitting a theft probe to continue.
