MPA Joins Global Declarations at Lumière Summit, Meets Presidents Macron and Lee

The Motion Picture Association endorsed two international statements at the Lumière Summit, aligning itself with governments and private entities on the future of cinema and on combating film and audiovisual piracy. The summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, featured MPA chair and CEO Charles Rivkin in two distinct roundtables: a dialogue with President Lee about collaboration with Korea’s creative industries, and a discussion with President Macron on strengthening ties with France’s cultural sector.

Emilie Anthonis, who leads the MPA’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region, participated in a session highlighting Korea’s expanding influence in global film and TV, as well as a forum titled “The Race Against Piracy: A Global Challenge,” where she emphasized the work of the MPA and the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment. She noted that protecting intellectual property is essential for sustaining the creative economy.

The MPA’s member studios include Netflix, Paramount Pictures, Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, The Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery.
